| Climate and Weather |
Yemen has a semi-arid to arid climate. Rainy seasons are in spring and summer. The rainfall depends on two main mechanisms.The first is active from March to May. Its influence is most noticeable at higher altitudes in the west of the country. The second reaches Yemen in July – September, moving north and then south again so that its influence lasts longer in the south. Rainstorms in the winter months of December and January are attributed to the influence of the Mediterranean. |
