In a series of high-level engagements on the sidelines of COP29, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, visited the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group pavilion.
The visit highlighted the strong partnership between the OIC and IsDB in addressing critical climate and development challenges facing Member States.
H.E. Mr. Muhammad Al Jasser, President of the IsDB Group, warmly received the Secretary-General and provided an overview of the IsDB’s activities and initiatives at COP29.
The IsDB pavilion features a range of engagements and side events, showcasing the Bank’s ongoing efforts to support Member States in their response to climate change impacts, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable communities.
Among the initiatives highlighted, the IsDB is presenting innovative Islamic finance products tailored to support green projects and sustainable investments.
The Bank aims to leverage these solutions to mobilize financing for climate adaptation and mitigation efforts, contributing to a resilient and sustainable future for OIC Member States.
In his remarks, H.E. Mr. Taha commended the IsDB for its proactive role in providing tailored financing solutions that address the specific needs of OIC Member States.
He lauded the Bank’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to combat the adverse effects of climate change.
